Rules & Policies

Official Rules (Skill-Based Contest)

This is a contest of skill. Progress depends on solving riddles, on-site observation, navigation, and timely submissions. No element of chance determines the winner.

Eligibility

  • All participants must obey local laws and park rules.
  • Minors must participate with a parent/guardian.

Format & Fairness

  • Clues unlock on a fixed schedule and sequentially after solving the prior on-site question.
  • All official stops are public & ADA-accessible.
  • No hints are provided.
  • Teams may collaborate privately; public sharing of answers during the event is prohibited and may result in disqualification.

Verification & Selfies

  • Every stop requires a selfie with the landmark visible (or hand gesture for privacy).
  • We will retain only a randomly selected 1–2 mid-route selfies per player for audit, plus the final stop selfie. All other mid-route selfies are discarded immediately after basic checks.
  • Photo recognition issues do not block gameplay (except the final). Organizer manually verifies the winner and top finishers before awarding the prize.
  • Gesture of the day: Usually from the ASL alphabet.

Prize

  • Prize: $500 delivered via email as a digital gift card after verification.
  • If two finishers submit within 60 seconds, organizer may review intermediate selfies and EXIF/time as a tiebreaker.

Refund Policy

Entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by the organizer. If canceled, fees will be refunded automatically.

Safety

Participants must stay behind railings, obey signage, and use caution near water and public roads. Do not trespass, tamper with signage, or obstruct the public.

Liability Waiver (Short Form)

By participating, you acknowledge the inherent risks of outdoor activity and release the organizer from any liability. You agree to follow instructions and local rules. You consent to the use of verification photos for operations.
